Glass Jar on air cleaner

This is an air precleaner. The purpose was to catch the big chunks before reaching the main oil bath aircleaner. In certain applications, this could mean dumping it several times/day. In others, it was to hold the little green tractor toy.

Air was pulled in the louvres around where the jar screws in, and entered rotating in a swirl. That swirl continued over to a smaller swirl above the glass jar, where larger debris, dead grasshoppers, road debris, leaves, green tractors, etc, collected in the center of the swirl, and dropped in. You can see how well it works; drop some dirt into a 5-gallon bucket of water, get it swirling around real good, and wait --- debris will collect in the ctner, and drop to the bottom.
Some tractors [my 1950 H] have the original rubber O-ring that sits above the jar, to seal it, it reads "66776-D United States America".

And then there are the correct police. I have seen BALL jars and KERR jars Mason jars Presto jars and they look like one pint in size. You can still buy canning "rubbers" to seal the jar. They are red live rubbber. Experts let us know.
