Super A PTO 90 degree spacer Question

Question. I have a spare 90 degree PTO delete cover that was in a parts pile in my shed. I want to remove the 90 degrees PTO off my Super A because I'll never use it. I was looking in the parts manual and it shows a spacer is needed when you just have the delete cover. I don't have that spacer and I went out to a parts tractor (Farmall A) that had delete cover and found this.

#1) is this gear supposed to be there since there is a delete cover? Is the spacer there am I missing it?

#2) what is the spacer located. ?

#3) most of my parts tractors have the 90 PTO so maybe I an find one.

The spacer goes on the shaft where the gear is located. It
replaces the gear. If you have a gear there, then there is no
spacer. I think you can put the cover over the gear and forget
about it. However if you want to sell the belt drive to someone
that does not have it on their tractor, they might need the gear
if the tractor originally had only the spacer.

Ok. So you are saying that the parts tractor I just pictured that had the "Delete" plate on it, previously had the 90 degree PTO at some point in it's life? But a tractor that had the cover plate from the factory only had the spacer?

I would like to remove the gear and use the spacer. Maybe I can find one.

THANKS>

May I ask why? When I went from a belly mower to a pull-behind on my 140, I just left the gear and added the delete cover. It's been fine that way for seven years. I kept the 90° pulley because you never know what the future will bring so I didn't need the gear.

So I can keep it with the 90 degree PTO attachment once it is removed. I might end up selling the attachment because I will never need it for this particular tractor.

A stack of machine bushings the same thickness as the gear will work in place of the spacer. You can get these at any equipment dealer or Tractor Supply.

Thank you, I actually found the bushing(s). One about 1 inch or so long and the other is a thick washer style.
