686 rear valve leaking

Cant't get one of the remote valves to stop leaking out the rear whether or not hoses are hooked to it. Have replaced the seal & backer ring & had the front of the valve champered but it still leaks bad enough that I just added 3 gallons of hy-tran. That much leaked out in the last 3 or 4 months. The valves angling down instead of being horizontal probably doesn't help. Is the valve bad & need to be replaced or can it be fixed. Need help with this.

Did you replace the little piston iside the spool?

I stopped the leak on my remote a couple of weeks ago. Purchase the orings and the small plunger from CIH and good to go. A bit different to work on. Comes apart differently than one would expect.
Part #s: oring 86553262, oring 9672548, oring 86629585, piston 396582R1.
