6v gen and regulator

ok yall, now that my SC is in rehab for being a crack head (looks like someone took a hacksaw to the threads on #3 plug hole), how do i check the 6v gen and reg to see if their working right when i get a replacement head back on?

Well the easy way is to put it all back together and start the engine. If the ammeter needle moves to the right, you're probably good. You can verify with a voltmeter on the battery terminals. If you measure anywhere near 7 Volts, you're golden.

After that John T's troubleshooting procedures come in extremely handy. Print a copy and stuff it in your owner's manual.
