Thanks for the info on my W9. I think it will be cheaper and easier to just replace the mag.
Thanks Howard

Maybe Maybe not. The gas mag will be as hard to find (good) as a distributor. Consider having your mag rebuilt! A good option. Jim

Sometimes you can pickup gas start diesel distributors with advance at low cost Some have no advance system that you don't want to use. Then if comfortable disassembling a distributor and doing repair. Make the advance limiting slot one and one half time longer than original. Then put a set of gas advance springs in it and you have a distributor that works like a W-9 one.

I know this will sound funny but a mag will always work. If the impulse is working and the mag is hot they are a wonder! I know... if your mag is broken then get it rebuilt. I would stay with a mag if possible.

Was to lazy to double check when I posted the hole size, so that parts a mistake.
If you want 40 degree advance at the crankshaft the slotted hole is .355 to .357 long. Gas start diesel shaft is like the small hole in the picture. Extra hole is a modified shaft. Other shaft is for one without advance. Small hole needs to be made longer to the left side in the picture. Then get a set of 358106R91 advance springs.
Advance limit holes were drilled round up to around 30 degrees advance then slotted when more was used.
