Looking at putting a alternator on my super h can any one tell me a model of car that the alternator will work. Was going to go to the local junk yard and get one.

Hitachi 14231 from auto parts store, Life time warranty, and small enough to fit under the hood.
It was OEM on mid 80s Nissan Pickups. They are wired the same as a Delco 10SI with the L terminal being = to the #1 terminal, and the S terminal = to the #2 terminal. Use push on spade terminals with insulation on the spades, or get the original connector off of the vehicle. Usually 40 to 50 bucks. Jim

This alternator comes from a lot vehicles, Ford courier, fork lifts use it, etc. Just make sure you get one that has the 62mm pulley(2 3/8") stock belt. Some come with a 68mm(2 11/16") which is too big for the stock belt. I got the brackets from CharileU on this site. I like it as it starts charging at idle, don't have to rev up to start charging the battery. I have a delco on IH560D, wont start charging till engine is rev over 1200rpm to get it to start. There will be lots of people telling you leave the 6volt system alone, its your tractor! Do as you please.

If I'm remembering correctly the Hitachi 14231 came on late 70's early 80's Datsun, Mitsubishi, Chevy Luv pick ups.
That's what I put on my SH and 300.
I ended up buying new as not many of those old foreign pickups are in the scrap yard anymore.

The Delco will not fit under the hood of an H. Delco works okay on an M, but not an H.
