Setting up 2 pt 3 bottom plow

Hey fellas, I have a 1955 Farmall 300 wide front with fast hitch. The plow is a 34-F30 three bottom. Can anyone give me advice on setting everything up? I know most of the set-up is in the hitch itself. What about tire spacing for the front and rear tires? Is one set of front wheel weights enough? What about how many sets of rear wheel weights can or should I put on the back?

I know some of these are probably dumb questions but I did not grow up around tractors and have no one to show me.

My location is near Mankato Mn.

Plow must be level when on the ground pulling , tires will be set narrow I would pull front in and line the inside of the front and rear and try it , the tires are a guess on my part ,I don't think the rear go all the way in but close , hopefully someone else can give exact measurements.

Forgot front weight won't be the issue rear will I use liquid ballast and a set of iron or 2 , the liquid does better in my opinion than cast ,maybe never had enough cast though.

I dont know plow numbers that well, but if it's a 3-14, you should be able to set your furrow wheel all the way in, or until you run out of keyway. Setting a plow is mostly trial and error, make a pass, with someone on the ground walking along side. If u have coulters, for said plow use them, they make the plow pull easier. If your going to plow 6 inches deep, set the coulter to a 3-4 inch depth, and a 1 inch to the left, to take a little more dirt, the last furrow should leave a nice straight wall.

For a 3bottom 14 inch plow, distance from drawbar to inside sidewall of rear tire should be about 25 inches.

I read this somewhere (on this site) and this may help: with tractor and plow on a level spot, jack up the LH wheel 6" to 8" depending upon plowing dept and set the wheel on blocks. Then adjust the plow accordingly. All bottoms on the level and on the ground.
