The factory manual is chock-full of details, including removing and installing the cam, and other details of setting them up for either rotation.

For the benefit of anyone else with this question: The biggest deal on reversing one is that the impulse coupling is specific to the rotation. Finding one of them of the opposite rotation will be the hard part. Determining which you have is a simple matter of rotating it. When turned frontwards, the dogs of the coupling will engage to resist motion. It will freely turn backwards.

i would like to try to rotate direction on the one i have because i have 200.00 allready in it with cost of purchasing it and having it rebuilt. dont want to buy another one, as i would have no use for the one i have now.

it ends with a "D" so it is a counterclock wise
. i have changed the pawls over , removed the
pin at the 8 oclock position and put it in the
hole at the 4 oclock postion, i will change the
rotor to the "r" , is there anything else.? i
am conserned about the indentations on the
pawls , i suppose i could grind the down and
tack weld a bead on the other side, i think
they are just used as a spacer. i see what you
mean by just buying one clockwise, but i have
invested 200 in this allready and dont want to
put anymore in to it,

Did you look at the linked manual I posted?

Page 55 tells specifically the 4 things you need to do.
