IH 656 3 point works, but no movement

I have a 1966 Ih 656 gas. Was working in the drive way and lost all movement. The three point and steering all work great but wot move forward or reverse. Pulled the hydraulic filter and little to no was in the filter. Any thoughts or ideas?

The clutch hub could have failed and stopped driving the trans. The TA direct clutch and one way clutch could have failed (if it was working before, it is less likely to be that). Any main component in the final drive could have failed (usually makes drama in noise and jerking)
It could also be stuck in two gears at once (If the engine bogs down when in gear and the clutch let out. Jim

The 656 works differently from the larger tractors. On a gear drive the connections are all mechanical, so no hydraulic pressure is necessary to make the tractor move. On a hydro, a separate pump makes the tractor move.

You need to specify whether you have a gear or a hydro.

You also need to describe more about how it won't move. Any noises?

The tractor is hydrostatic. When it quit i was going along slow, medium rpm and it slowly slowed down to a stop, no noise no grinding. It will move very little in reverse (on very flat ground) But nothing in forward. And there is a little burnt smell.

First thing I'd check would be that foot-n-inch valve to make sure it's closing all the way.

Next, I'd take a look at the piping at the center section. They crack at the nut and that is enough to lose drive pressure.

I had that happen to me, it was simple fix and I hope yours is. The foot and inch pedal was sticking and not coming all the way up.(hook your toe under it and pull up) A little spray juice and some grease and all was good.
