54 Super C Question

Hello...I have a 54 Super C that I"m attempting to bring back to life. Got the motor running but the hydraulics don"t work. I have an owners manual but not a shop manual (yet). I"d like to know exactly where the fill port for the hydraulic system is located. I"d also like to be sure of filling and level checking locations for the tranny and the rear end. Pictures would be a bonus. Thanks in advance for your help!

Your owner's manual details all the fill points and the fluid quantities. No service manual is necessary.

On the hydraulics, though, the fill point and level check is a pipe plug on the left side right smack in the middle of the side of the unit underneath the gas tank.

There are a bunch of other fill and check points, too many to type out by hand. Rest assured they're all in the owner's manual.

Thank you...what is the plug just forward and left of the shifter? And the big one on the back that a 1/2 ratchet fits...I assume that's the differential and gets gear oil...?

The fill plug for the hydraulics is in the reservoir under the gas tank. It takes a 1 1/8 inch open end wrench and accessible from the left side of the tractor. I find it easiest to use a plastic quart container with a tapered filler cap.

Yes that is the fill plug for the transmission and rear end. The fill level plug is on the right side right below the pto lever. When you remove the plug in the fast hitch reservoir, be careful, as a lot if times there is pressure built up in the reservoir as they are not vented.

Might want to check the screen at the bottom of the hydraulic box. Could be plugged.
4 bolts hold it in.
