Running Henderson trip loader from 140 hyds

A few years back I purchased a 1941 farmall A with a Henderson trip loader that ran on a char Lynn pto pump. Both 30" cylinders are one way up and gravity down.
The A is retired at the camp, and I am adapting the loader frame to fit the 140 and I'd like to run it off the hydraulics. I have a valve that bolts to the touch control unit where the lines hook up. It came with lines that replace the lines that hook to the pump. This valve has two lines coming off it. Pull the lever one way and one hose has fluid coming out. Push the other way and fluid comes out a different hose.

Question- can I plug up one of the hoses? I only need power one way for this loader. Sorry about no pictures yet, I will post them tomorrow.

Nope, you can't just plug one line. If you do you deadhead the system and blow something, because the relief valve is downstream of the auxiliary valve you installed.

Like Gene says, you need to return the unused line to the reservoir.

So I got it all together. As a temporary setup, I simply routed the other line to the reservoir. Tomorrow I'm going to the hardware store to get fittings to attach it.
The lines coming off the auxiliary valve are 1/4 inch so I used adapters to get it to a 1/2" T then half inch lines to the one way cylinders. To my surprise it raises at a very acceptable speed. I tested it out lifting a pile of dirt and it works just as well as with the char Lynn. Only problem is it only raises about half way up. For now that's fine but I'm going to rig up an external reservoir

Here it is. The picture of the valve is before I hooked things up.

How do I connect to the reservoir? The cap that comes off is a thread size and type I cannot find anywhere. Do I need to retap that to pipe thread? Lost.

You will not have any troubles lifting loads with the hydraulic pump. If you put a two spool control valve on it you could put a cylinder or cylinders on bucket. Have Farmall B thats had loader since the early 60's and has moved many many tons of manure, dirt and snow.

where could I get a two spool that would bolt on?

The B did not have a reservoir so we mounted a 3 gallon reservoir on left up right of loader. The lift cylinders on this loader are only one ways.By looking at picture of loader you might have to watch how much you lift. Mine at times (when loading dirt) I have to tip bucket and dump a little dirt. The pump and cylinders can lift more than tractor will handle (just use common sence when using).
