HI all, I have a couple 300 U's that have fast hitch setups. I have a few tool bars that I plan top make up as cord wood boxes, weight box, fence post tool box, etc. The problem is they are NOT inter-changeable. The width should be about 28 1/2 inch on center on the 2 machines. One of the tool bars is 27 1/2 and wont fit in. Another is pinched in a bit but still too wide to fit in. Do these "y" sections ever get bent way out? These are all the larger size fast hitch tool bars for the 300-400 series, so that is not the issue.
any insight here would be appreciated
thanks in advance

Yes,if one side comes unlatched whilr pulling hard, you can bend the 'bail'.Pretty rare, but not unheard of.But there should be enough slop that things should still go together.

Yes. A handyman/Highlift jack is a good choice. Turn the base and haed around to squeeze or push apart. I would clamp the jack to the socket to prevent it from springing off into vital reproductive parts. Jim

per GSS-1037 page 14 the width measured left outside of yoke (just below socket on tractor) at rear to right inside of yoke (on tractor) at rear is 28 inches.
I would first bring the yoke for the fast hitch on the rear of the tractor to the above specs, this would bring the socket openings to the proper width.

thanks 28 inch sounds about right, mine measure closer to 28 1/2 but they have slop. I have one tool bar that is 27 inch and does not appear to be bent in at all. it will not fir in sockets
thanks again
