need help with hydraulic problem with IH584

Started up the tractor this afternoon to cut some hay and made it about 20 minutes until the hydraulic system quit including steering, 3 point hitch, and PTO. Does anyone have any ideas on what might have happened and where to get started on fixing it?

If it made a noise, it is probably the drive tube in the clutch cover plate. The splines get worn and all of it quits

Hi as Jim said could be PTO dive splines on
pressure plate. I assume you checked transmission
fluid level. You can remove inspection plate from
bottom of clutch housing and look at PTO drive
shaft that is outer shaft that is splined and goes
into pressure plate splines. You can mark the PTO
shaft with a bright magic marker, then start
engine and look to see if PTO shaft is turning at
engine speed.
If PTO shaft is turning, then check hydraulic
filter but it should bypass if filter is clogged.
Next would be hydraulic pump problem or MCV valve
problems like stuck relief valve or blown O-rings.
