How to increase diesel pump on 886

HELLO

Does anyone knows how to turn up the pump on a 886

my i too lean i´m afraid.

There is no such thing as "too lean" on a diesel.

A diesel runs with wide-open throttle so it is always lean up until it starts blowing black smoke. Engine speed is controlled by the amount of fuel sprayed by the injectors.

What is the REAL problem? What makes you think it is running lean?

Take off the top cover. Loosen the locknut on the screw and back it off ONE turn. :>)

hello

there is no top cover on this bosch pump?
only cover is on the side of the pump.

the thing is that i had to change the pump on this machine
and its not smoking a tiny puff in full load
so i thaugt i could give it som more diesel

You must have the 358 German diesel. On the side of the pump there are two levers, one the throttle rod connects too and one the kill cable connects to. Your tractor may have electric shutoff not sure. Anyways on the lever not connected to the throttle rod back off the stop screw a half turn at a time until you have the power you need, not to far tho. Hope this makes sense to you.

this was the way i tried to do but i have turned it back 3 turns and there is still no black smoke coming out of the pipe

maybe back out more?

If memory serves me correctly, the 886 with a D-358 engine has a single throttle control lever for shut off and speed control. It still has the second lever on the pump, below the throttle lever, and that lever has a stop screw on the front side and that is the maximum fuel adjustment screw. A spring on the lever keeps lever in contact with the screw and backing the screw out should give engine more max fuel. If it does not, then internal limiting factors will keep you from giving it any more. Previous models of the CR pump used a cable attached to that lever for increased fueling during starting and to shut off. This version of that pump uses a hydraulic controlled increase fueling device inside the pump therefore no cable. Now, if you have electric shutoff (like used on combines) that is another version . A couple more versions also followed, one at least which was not adjustable internally or externally for more fuel.

I have no Electric shut off in my tractor.
i dont have a Cable at the lower arm ither

i will try to screw the screw to the front and see what happens

i had already turned 3 turns on it with no result.
