SMTA Radiator

Hi All,

Had to pull out the radiator last night on the SMTA. Followed along with the brief instructions in the service manual. Got it all loose and was having a time with the fan shroud so I took out the 4 bolts and left it on the tractor to get by the fan. Looking at those top bolts now, it might be hard to get at them on the reinstall. Wondering if anyone has any tips on the assembly of the radiator & shroud.

Thanks in advance

If it is the same as an H---have fun. They will go back in after standing on your head and having three arms. LOL Getting the bolts in takes a lot of patience and luck. Getting the nuts on the bolts takes a few choice words.

This is what I do on my tractors. Doesn't hurt the strength and the sheet metal covers it. Also on the brace plate I have some that I cut the outside edge of a extra plate. Put bolts through the holes and welded to the plates. Just slide bolts on plate through the radiator holes on the forward side ,install brace bar and nuts. Don't have to worry about holding the bolt heads from turning.

I put a shroud into my "H" a couple years ago, and it was very simple. Just cut the thing right in half. Do a little tin-smithing, cut away some edges. Bolt in one half, then the other. Slick as can be, you never notice.
