I am in the process right now, just waiting to get
some help to get front bolster on tractor. I think
I will have to remove some metal but I will know
soon and take pictures.
Back end is pretty straight forward you will need
a pilot bearing pressed into your original
flywheel-- I needed to cut 1 1/4" off of drive
shaft then bolt up simple.

Now for the front, you will see a few ways to do
this mentioned of this and other forums.

What I did---140 radiator and upper hose---140
themostat housing and radiator brace---140 fan--on
original 153 water pump. 140/240 lower radiator
elbow.

I will take so photos when I get the bolster back
on.

One thing I ran into today was the front fuel tank
support where it bolts to the back of the block on
the Super "C" the bolt holes are a little norrow
to use the support, so I had to drill it to make
it match the width 4 1/8" holes on the back of the
C-153.

Things have not gone to bad so far and it seems if
I throw enough money at it I can make it work but
it sure AIN'T BEEN CHEAP.

I am sure there are others who have done it other
ways and not had to spend so much, this one has
been hard on my wallet and easy on my brain.

Thanks for the input Rex. I don't think I'm ready to do all yet. This tractor was bought by my dad and grandad when it was a cpl years old. We no longer farm and all's it's used for is my garden which is about a half acre. All my buddies pull tractors and I wanted to get started again with this.I also own a A jd and a 50 Massey. My friends are pulling wc's and wd's with combine engines and they're just a straight fit. There also about 60-70 hp. I think it would take a lot of money to get a C to that equality. After doing some research I think I should maybe just go with the stock block build up and pull the farm stock class and keep the original look. Someone else said a 230 combine engine but I haven't researched it yet. I do know that my bone stock engine is not very competitive at all.lol

If the engine in the Super "C" I bought had been any
good I think that would have been the way to go, but
some friends gave me the C-153---so I just had to do
it. Now it's all just buttoning it up I will post
pictures soon. Maybe my trials and such can help
someone in the future.

I still haven't scrapped the idea completely. My thing is not necessarily money but it is in there. I can buy a wc right now with a gleaner combine engine that's a hoss for $2500. That's with a fresh set of cut tires and all. I don't believe I can build my c for that and be competitive in their class. I live international harvesters. I like red period! I'm thinking uniqueness of that small of tractor and if I can do a stock block build now after research and talking with y'all and get 40-50 hp out of it, it would be a beast and the curiosity meter would go crazy. This is gonna be a winter project so I'm getting idea's and then gotta locate parts so it's several factors in play. If someone gives me a engine you can believe I it would have a 153 in it!!

You have to remember that the C thru 240 do not have a frame, the engine IS the frame. Lots easier with a frame like the WC/WD have. An H would be an easier build with the frame rails and closer to the HP to start. Don't mess up your tractor for garden work.
