BN Governor

I've lost throttle response in my 1947 BN. I suspect that the spring in the governor has broken and my mosquito's and I are trying to replace it. So far we have removed the magnito, hood, grill and fan shroud and bracket. Next I suspect the cover on the front of the governor needs to come off. Is that correct? Any hints on this as the bolts on the back side will be hard to get to. Gene B has given suggestions on rebuilding govenors and I can't find them in the archives. Can I get the "bearings" from Case/IH? Yes, I have marked the locations of the magnito and govenor drive.
Thanks for any help and I,m sorry for the repeated question.

You probably didn't need to remove the magneto or most of the other stuff, but now that you have them off, it will make access easier.

Yes, Case/IH should have all the bearings and springs for it. The case where the input shaft from the governor control goes through is often worn badly. You will need to drill or ream it out and put a bushing in to get the slop out of it. I got my bushings from McMaster-Carr, but any machine shop should have them, or can get them for you. Gene says he gets them at Lowes, but I haven't looked for them there.
