When I first start my1486 the radio, and fan don't work. After it
runs a little and I turn on the radio or fan everything stops. I
shut the key off and on after I shut the fan and radio off the
dash comes back on. After a while of running everything
works. It's not as bad if I run the tractor every day. It charges
ok. Thanks

It's the relay. Cab relays seem to be a regular maintenance item with the 86 series. Sometimes you can turn the key on and off a few times to get the relay to kick in for good but it's only a bandaid. The frustrating part to replacing one is the two bolts that hold it to the firewall. It might help your temperament to have someone reach up behind the engine to hold the bolts in the holes while you install the new relay. Jim

Those two bolts do make it interesting. They did change that later to welded nuts on the engine side. What I do, is put a bolt in from engine side(after getting original bolt and nut out of course). Some how hold it in place with a block or magnet. Put a whiz nut on inside, washer and now you can mount the relay easier every time the darn thing craps out. They are more fun to put in on the 50 series with all that other crap in the way.

107655C1 infamous cab load relay, I usually had 10 in stock, used on a lot of equipment, especially tractors & combines. I have heard the CNH supply is Chinese crap now, try NAPA or Delco for better quality.
