Quick question

The answer is "depends".

Has the Super C had the 3pt conversion kit?

What do you intend on cutting with it?

How big a brush hog?

I have an old JD 5' "hog" that I use on occasion with my Super A to cut overgrowth from pastures, BUT:
1) the front gets pretty 'light' when carrying it.
2) You will need an overriding clutch on the PTO output shaft (don't leave home without it!)
3) On a full cut it requires more HP in tall grass or heavy weeds than the SA can provide, even in 1st gear. The SC would be about the same, depending on year.
4) The hog should have a lower ground speed to work best,
5) it should be run from a live PTO (with an overriding clutch).

If I had a choice, I'd use a bigger, better tractor for brush hog work, but my bigger better one is in the long (costly) process of an overhaul.

I just spent the last 8 hours mowing with my 5' rotary mower on my Super C with a 3 point conversion. As said below, you have to run a overriding clutch unless you have a death wish. When it up in the air, the front gets a little light. I have 2 45# wheel weights up front. I run in 2nd gear in CRP grass that is as tall as the gas tank. I have done a lot of engine work. You have to have "rake" in the mower deck so you are not mowing everything twice. I have mine adjusted 4" higher in the back than in front. The cut weeds coming out the back should look like a windrow, nice and smooth on top. If it is ruffled on top, the back is to low. It saves a lot of horsepower.

i pull a 5 ft. drag type, behind my C. it is too much work for the tractor, in heavy cutting. so i cut about 1/2 width of bush hog in that instance.

average pasture it will do a good job.

That would be determined on how high the grass is and how thick and how fast do you want to go. If the blades are sharp and mower is set like other post runs his with front being lower that the back not going too close to the ground ect. Many things do enter on conditions and finish when done.

Well I have woods rotary cutter that is a 700 something I can't remember off the top of my head. It's a cat 2 and a heavy duty brush bull. She is tough that is why I am checking.

I would only use it in light brush. That brush bull can chew up 4 inch thick trees but I wouldn't use the C for that.

I also have a heavy duty finish mower, a Woods RM 990 ( I can remember that one) which is a cat 1 but she is heavy too. It is recommended for 50 HP for the pto.

So can the Super C handle the Woods 990 finish mower?

Both woods mowers have clutches on the mowers themselves, is that the overriding clutches that has been mentioned?

So can the Super C handle these?

P.s. Oh and yes I have the 3 point hitch converter for my quick hitch

Good man!! So many people do not set their mowers correctly! Your little toy lawn tractor is set with the front 3/8 of an inch lower than the rear. When you get up to a big bad 5 footer you need a good couple of inches. Remowing the grass several times takes a lot of extra HP.

I would not cut more than 60" wide with that tractor, and again the mower might pick the front end off the ground.
