correct seat for 1943 H

Pretty much like this one. Some seat pans had a few differences.

I agree! My uncles had a '43 H with that seat! First tractor I ever drove! I would have said that the seat fabric was silver/grey, but wouldn't swear to it!

I have according to the serial number a 44 H and the seat looks nothing like that but I have seen that style but I think it was on the hundred series

Kevin; The picture of the pipe seat was the only seat I have ever seen on H or M's from factory till 1947,then first coil spring seat with long shock behind spring came out as extra cost item. We had a new 1942 H and it had the pipe seat with sponge rubber & black canvas on it. Buck

D Slater posted a pick of what I think is correct. Thats what I have on my 43. I actually like these better than the delux seat you could get later on. They seemed to of crowded you a little more in the way of room, even though they were a little nicer to ride on. I like the extra room on the simpler seat with it all the way back. And there is more room with that seat.

The pictured seat is correct, the seat was jute padded with a dark gray canvas covering......no sponge rubber or silver covering until later on in late 1948 If I remember right. Our '48 W-6 still had the old type seat, the new early '50 H had the Monroe Easy Rider type with a silver canvas covering about 3/4 inch of foam rubber padding.

Well this is just my opinion, but I think the pipe seat gives the tractor more of a 'retro look'. Whereas the coil spring Monroe seat give it a more modern flavor. I went for the retro look. Love my old pipe seat. I picked up 2 at a salvage yard for $40, and assembled one good one. I bought the new upholstered pan at RPRU last year. ($$$) Oh well, it's only money. {grin}

I see them on ebay sometimes. Some cheap, some not too cheap. Unless it's a local pickup, shipping costs would probably be a deal breaker. That pig iron is heavy.

Best regards
