Umbrella or canopy sun shades?

Looking to see what you like more, the umbrella or canopy style sun shades on your tractor to keep the sun off. Looks like the canopy might be a bit stronger with more mounting points to the tractor. Looking to get one to put on one of my farmall H's. Also for the farmall would you go with the red color or the white? I like the white but worry it would show dirt or time?

Ryan, yes, the canopy is a lot stronger, especially if you are road tripping rather than using in the field. I don't have one for my H, but I do have one on my JD A. The drawback of the canopy is you don't have room to stand up during operation.

I have one of the old IH umbrella ( red with black IH logo) from the mid 60's. I can take just take the umbrella off or bracket and umbrella in just a few minutes. This one I have left on and run down the road in road gear ( tip umbrella down a little in front so air goes over top).

The umbrella that I have can be used on our M and 450 and its not high enough to stand up on tractor but I'am six foot four inchs tall.

some of the umbrellas are adjustable so you can move them around and change the angle and you are always in the shade. The canopy you are outta luck with steep sun angles.

I would go with umbrella. As already stated you can take it off if you trailer the tractor (canopy has a lot of wind drag), need to go into a short shed or you can put it on another tractor. An umbrella is much more versatile. We used one when I was a kid on our H's and we set the bracket so it was high enough to stand up or lower it when we really did not need to stand up, plus it would keep more sun out when lower. We went down the road in road gear and it never moved or caused any problems.
