How do you adjust the "lift" on front cultivators? The left side of mine is lower than the right and causes my implements to drag across the yard as I head to the garden. Any assistance would be appreciated.

If you look at the cultivator lift spring it has two set screws on them just loosin the screws and you can lift or lower the cultivators.

kinda hard to explain. there are 2 rods from tractor to part that holds cultivator shanks. the top rod , is the adjustment. there should be a part that is forked, it has a pin in it , remove the pin and the cultivator will lower to the ground. the piece that is forked is threaded. clockwise, looking at the end of it, should shorten the rod and raise the cultivator. DO NOT PUT A BAR INTO THE FORK , use a pipe wrench to turn the part.

Thank you! I looked at that part you mention and started to turn it, but was afraid I would create more problems than I already had. IF I remember , that part had a nut behind the fork, so I assume it is backed off and the fork can be turned in a few turns then tighten the nut back up against it.

thanks for the response. But, I have to admit, I don't know where to find the set screws you mention.
Can you direct me to a site that may have a pic of those screws?

On either side of the tractor, is a link running forward to the cultivator from the lift rockshaft. There you should see a coil spring along that link, with a set screw at either end of it, if memory serves me correct. It will likely be a square head, 1/2" wrench I think. The link is a rod at one end that slides in a tube at the other end, joined by the spring. You can adjust the link for length, with those set screws.

correct. there does not seem to be a need for teh lock nut. there is no where the threaded fork can go. in my opinion, with or without the nut.
