IH 100 mower--need suggestions

I have found a 100 balance head mower at a salvage place. He said it was a straight 2 point mount, no trailing wheel with 7' bar. He said it was in good shape and wanted $650 for it.

Does this sound like a fair price or is it too high?
 
I think it would have to be in excellent shape for that price. They are getting hard to find, but I've seen them at auctions go for $100-$300 range.
 
Way too high. I paid that for my mid-mount 115 but that included shipping to Michigan and it were a long haul AND I needed a mower in front of me to give my back a break. My 120 semi mount was $110 on ebay with lots of extra stuff, no cylinder. My 100 trailer mower was about $100 at and auction. Those are good deals. Normally they go for $200-300.
 
It would have to be in good condition. I haven't seen any sell for the price listed below (or I'd have an extra one) but I've seen them sell in the $300-$450 range in usable condition.

The cheapest usable one I've seen sell in the last 10 years I bought for $295 (mounted with with trailing wheel). Needed a new belt before I could really use it (about $120(?) and the guards are pretty worn. I just haven't seen to many (any?) in really good condition sell - most are pretty worn and have spent years sitting in the weeds by the time they hit an auction.

If that includes any kind of warranty or at least a test run and a sickle or two its not hooribly out of line - at least in my area (NE Kansas).
 
I did a quick search through Craigs list and the CHEAPEST balanced head mower listed was $700, most were priced in the $1000 to $1200 range. Other makes of sickle bar mowers were priced the same.

The only ones below $500 were really old ones with the wooden pitman stick.

Bought this 120 back in the 80's for $450. One new belt and lower bearing and that's about it other than wear parts.
