300 Farmall Crankcase Level Rising

I have a 300 we bale with. I am used to Cs Super Cs with the hydraulic pump leaking into the crankcase. I can fix one of those in a heartbeat. Is the 300 pump the same deal? I have never had to do a live pump on a larger tractor.

Thanks in advance.

If you are making oil, it has to be water or hydraulic oil. Ifyour hydraulic level is going down then you have a pump issue.

And if it's water, if you check after it's been running, the oil should look milky and if it's been sitting a day or two, loosen the drain plug and the first thing that comes out will be water.
I'm betting on your hydraulic pump seal.

I guess I could have more clear. I know its hyd oil. Its not water and the hyd level goes down by the same the oil goes up.

My question was on the pump repair. Anyone that has done one, I would be interested to hear if anuything is needed different than the C/SC pump.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have a manual on your tractor that shows the pump breakdown? It probably has a seal that's failed. My manual just covers the Super C pump. Hal

It the same process. Shaft seal is worn and probably scored the shaft. New seal and speedy sleeve should resolve it.

You'll have to find a universal seal and sleeve, because AFAIK you cannot find service parts for this pump at CaseIH. The only option there is an entire new pump.

Yea, good call. I am sure they wouldn't have the speedy sleeve. They do offer the seal though. But without the sleeve, the seal alone may not solve the issue.
