farmall C after overhaul expectations

To make a long story short, my 1948 C is underpower in stock tractor pulls. Bone stock, 3" flat head pistons and compression that leaves something to be desired (80-100).
Runs great. If it were for farm usage I would probably leave it alone.....but thats not the case.
I have a Farmall 140 I use for my "farm" usage. I am willing to sacrafice some of its power to benefit the C.
My plans are to take the heads and swap them. Take the C head, put it on the 140, and vice versa. The carbs look different so I will be swapping heads, manifolds and carbs.
After that I will get the 3 1/8" sleeves and stepped head pistons.
Lastly, the C has a MAG. The 140 has a distributor. I pland on swapping those as well.
I figure at that point, it will be up with the other C/Super C's in stock pulling. What do y'all think it'll do for power?

I would just swap the complete engine 140 has more
power at 1400 rpm than the C does at 2000 rpm, just
my thought , if you do use the 140 engine you can
adjust the governor to more rpm = more horse's.

If it is a truly stock tractor pull rpms would be checked also, so you need to watch out for that issue.

Even after you swap all those parts on to the C, you still have a tired bottom end. I don't think you'll see much if any additional power.

The problem with swapping entire engines is the C will go way too fast and the 140 will be slow as a dog due to engine RPM.

140's get more power by spinning the engine faster and running different gearing to end up with the same ground speed. If you put a 140 engine into a C, which is geared for an engine running much slower, you will not realize any additional pulling power.

Your best bet for more power would be to overhaul the C's engine.

I have no intentions of swapping the entire motors. I do want to overhaul the entire motor on the C because I do believe the lower and is tired. In my club you have to have the stock block I cannot swap out the block for a 140 block. The rules do allow for some increased rpm's. As mentioned I want to swap some of the parts not the entire motor.
