MD sleeve replacement

My md wasted a sleeve recently and Im looking to replace all 4 sleeves and rering it. Replacements are available from caseih but are designated for SMD. Will they fit an MD with the 4 in. conversion, which is what mine is?? The sleeve flanges on mine are virtually flush with the block.

The sleeves are different. The parent bore in the block for the D-248 (MD) engine is 4.125, where as the D-264 (SM-400) is 4.250.

Thanks for reply. This shoots down my local case-ih dealer's contention that the sleeves will fit. All they come up with are sleeves for a SMD. Will have to find another supplier.

Thanks for the tip. I looked up Powermaxparts.com and it looks like they have them, except there's no phone number listed.

You email them to find your local distributor. I have two local machine shops that use their parts all the time that I can order through. I have also ordered their parts through Jensales.

I am curious, couldn't you use them if you went with a kit with sleeve's, pistons, and rings.

Am interested. I don't have the head off yet, but I'm hoping for no piston damage. I'd be interested in just sleeves and rings, if you can sell them that way. I would need the 4 in. overbore conversion sleeves. What's the best way to contact you?

www.weberstractorworks.com is his website. A piston & sleeve set is just that, a complete set with pistons, sleeves & rings and can't really be split up.
