fall m project

a few of you may remember last fall I posted pics of my 39 m that I planned to work on in my back yard. well as I figured the winter closed in on me before I got too much done. some new seals and other general repair items mostly. well I hit it hard this spring and its coming along well. I sanded prepped and painted it in my garden spot in the back yard and now im working on wiring and lights. its not a show tractor by any means I use it just to play with, light duty stuff and some tractor pulling. some folks said I might not be happy with the results painting it that way, but for a general purpose tractor that will get dirty and dinged over time and use I couldn't be more pleased. thanks to you guys and my dad and friends who worked with these machines when they were new for making this project go smoothly.

The 39M, the foundation sire of a long proud line. The 39M, a true, true classic. That's a keeper. Any kind of M certainly gets my attention The M is in the top 5 of most beautiful, very easy to look at, no matter what condition IMHO. Good job.

Best regards

39Farmall: Looks great! Congrats on a nice job and a nice tractor. Just curious, does it have the "hogtrough" under the seat (the indent in the top of the transmission? If so, I think it'd be rather possible to make the base of the seat virtually identical to original. I have a '39 H and I added/made a tool box for mine. If you get a chance to see an original, you'll probably agree they are pretty simple.
Again, nice job! kelly

thanks. yes it does have the indent in the tranny cover. im pretty sure only first year "h" and "m" tractors had that. it has [as far as i know} the original seat on it. the only problem is it looks like it was cobbled together sometime in the past before i owned it. but since i intend to use the tractor not show it it'll work just fine. im not sure what im gonna do about a toolbox just yet. i might just mount one on the frame.

That tractor only has to make one guy happy. If you like it no one elses opinion matters. Having said that, my opinion is it looks great. I would be thrilled to see it in a pull, a ride, or a parade. I would be even more thrilled to see it inside my shed.(just a little jealous) Nice job, well done!
