706 diesel with leaky roasamaster pump

I have been noticing the injection pump on my Farmall 706 has been dripping. Today I saw where it was coming from. On the side of the pump away from the engine block there is sort of a weep hole. Looks like it is under the bushing area for the throttle shaft. The throttle shaft goes through the rectangular casting on top of the circular part of the pump itself. Must be an "O" ring in there or something to seal it off. Any ideas?????

My experience has been it's usually best in the long run to remove and reseal the complete pump assembly. Too many times I have seen a minor repair work, but other leaks show up later.

Thanks. What does it cost to reseal the pump??? Is it a fairly straight forward job to remove it and re-install it with the correct timing?? Thanks.

Pump timing line is under the two screw timing cover on the side of the pump, turn the engine until the line on the plate aligns with the cam ring line in the window, 706 spec is TDC on the crank pulley. Send an E mail if you like, have some questions for you. Last pump I did for 250, on a 261 MF.

All there is for seals on the throttle shaft is an o-ring and teflon washer - one each side. On some Stanadyne/Roosamaser D pumps. . you can get the shaft out and reseal without taking the pump off. Not sure about yours. You can buy a complete seal kit for $15.
