140 hydraulic pump

Just put new used hydraulic pump on a Farmall 140 started it up and it wasn"t working but after I put some more oil in and messed with controls it started to work. We"ll it sounds like it gasping for oil and the tubes that go from pump to touch control box are hot so is pump. What"s the problem???

Is the screen clean , any obstructions could cause problem

Unfortunately, there's no easy answer when it comes to hydraulics, as I'm finding out.

I had the same problem with my 240, except it blew out the O-rings between the pump and the lines.

You've got a blockage somewhere, but where is anybody's guess. All you can do is to start taking the hydraulic system apart and cleaning until you find the problem.

on C farmall , there is a screen that needs cleaning from time to time. it is located on the left side of the unit, held in by 4 screws.
