Super A vs. Super AV value

Super A

When I was growing up in the early 80s, there were two Super AV tractors within 5 miles of me, and had been on their farms since new. So, "hi-crops" didn"t seem all that special to me. Now, as a collector, that attitude has changed!

How do the values for a Super AV, (or a 100, 130, or 140 hi-clear) compare with their standard clearance versions? I know some models of hi-clear tractors bring big $$ but wasn"t sure how the cultivision tractors compare.

Sure wish I hadn"t let those local tractors get away.....

I've never seen much of a premium for the av. Hard to compare apples to apples because all tractors from that era are in such a wide range of conditions, not to mention the variance in what their owners think they're worth.

I'd say the price range is about the same for either model.

They are worth less to me due to the fact I never see the cultivators for them. A local dealer is real proud of a 130 High crop and has held it for years not wanting to drop his price. Just the tractor, in rough shape, no cultivators.

Al,

I would say about the same price for a good one with Cultivators maybe around $500 more just for their "specialty". I bidded on one this past weekend at the Mecum Auction in TN, but I had to drop out at $4,000. It was VERY NICELY "restored" but needed a steering rebuild. The rest of the tractor was mint and it ran awesome! It had a Complete High Crop Drawbar and a Complete set of Cultivators and sold for $5,000 plus the Buyer's Premium and 10% state tax.
