Farmall M hood and grill $$$

Whats an average price for a hood and a grill?
I bought both together at an auction for $230. They were dent/rust free, straight, and original.
I"m just curious if I got a good deal?

Yeah, if all they need is the old paint and rust stripped off to be ready to paint. Especially nice if the wire mesh screen in the grill is in good shape and the insert in place. (Probably that's expecting too much, I guess). Good tin is getting pretty scarce, even for the common models.

I have found good ones in this area for roughly $75 each.

However, if you found what you needed and didn't have to go to dozens of auctions or do tons of shopping then it basically evens out because of the cost of your time. You could spend years trying to find the most perfect and cheapest grill or you could just go buy what you need and keep moving forward.

If you compare to replacement sheet metal costs for classic cars and consider that no one is making new M hoods or complete grills then you did fine.

I've been trying to sell a straight but rusty M hood for 2 years for $50, and no one will take it!

Does the all-fuel hood have the extra hole cut in it for the little "starter" tank? Mine only has one hole for the gas tank.
