How to tell which throttle body I have on my '52 M

Hi -
I'm rebuilding my '52 M's carb and need to order a carb kit... found out there are several to choose from, and have narrowed it down to two - but it depends on the throttle body's designation. I have the OEM number (50983DB), but there are two kits available which depend on the throttle body number. I can't find anything else on the carb anywhere - except the stray "2" and "O" on top and bottom halves.

50983DB is supposed to have a 8867 throttle body. Someone put a older carburetor on your M if a 52 model. Should have 50983DC on it. Not that it really maters.

Thanks for the replies.

Truthfully, not certain if it is a "DB" or "DC", but the real question is, which kit to get - the one for the 6513DX or 8867DX. Is there something different enough between the two that I can use to determine which one I have? Or in reality, would either kit work?

The "50983D_" is on the disk pinned to the top of the carb. (and it is smaller than a dime). There is a dime-sized round flat part on the side, but is has no markings on it whatsoever... looks like it never did.

Thanks.

Some of the carb kit suppliers are grossly over-interpretating the various models. I've rebuilt countless M carburetors. Used that same 50983 rebuild kit on all of them. I think the issue is that certain throttle bodies have longer throttle shafts, but the throttle shaft included in the 50983 kit will easily fit and function in all of them.

Great! Thanks for the confirmation, Rusty. I'm a newbie at all this, though I've owned this farmall for some 6 years now (or maybe it owns me!)
