Transmission fluid

Hello Folks; My manual for a 1970"s International B2400 Industrial Tractor says to use IH HY-Tran fluid. I do not have a Case-IH Dealer nearby. Anyone know of a alternative transmission fluid I could try to get? Thanks in advance.

Most ANY farm supply store (and even NAPA-type places) sells UTF (Universal Tractor Fluid) meeting the "specs" of the major manufacturers (have a look-see at the label for sure it meets HyTran specs).

Some folks around here debate endlessly if it as good as the REAL stuff that comes out of the IH oil wells, but, IMHO, your nearly 50-year-old tractor will do just FINE with it.

I'm with Bob, if it meets the specs, dump it in.
Same as loyalty to different brands of cola, beer, whiskey........
all the same stuff basically.
besides, with the look of some of the old oil that comes out of
assorted drain plugs......ANY new, clean, oil I can find will be better....
