2 Point Hitch.

Looking to find out if the small and large 2 point hithes on tractors are the same width apart I have a small point carrier for my Super C but going on a tractor ride a buddy wants to put it on his 460 we can make it stay in with a bunge or 2 if it don't want to lock in.
 
Same width. use a 1/2" thick shim between socket and prong.Common deal to use small prong in large socket.Take a 1" wide by 1/2" thick 'shim' the 'working' length of the prong. set it in the socket,insert prong.
 
also if I remember right on the end it was turned down. I don't remember if it was to keep them from sliding on through or for ease of removing them. The last time I seen that mower and shims was the summer of 1964.

Thanks to everybody that responded to my question so far I learned a lot, Thats why the IH/Farmall/McCormick Deering site is the best group of people out there when you need a question answered kudos to everybody.
 
I believe the IH filler plates were p/n 523388R91 from some information I have on small point fast hitch implements being adapted for use on large point fast hitch tractors, Hal.
