450 Fast Hitch

Is there or does anyone know of or have fabricated an anti sway bar for the fast hitch?
The draw bar on the fast hitch needs to be a great deal more steady to work to my satisfaction.

I looked on the CIH Part site and did not see anything that resembled a devise or linkage to stop sway.

If it's anything like the smaller 240U linkage, it's way more complicated than necessary. I had to repair mine and it still has plenty of slop to it.
I ran a 450 a lot one summer, but that was 1964 and I can't remember what I had for breakfast this morning. I'm sure there was some mechanism because we did a variety of things and for some, you would not want it to sway.

Is your original sway limiter missing? Mine was missing and someone had made a poor attempt to fabricate a replacement. I got a used limiter from Bates, but I'm sure several salvage yards have them. After years of use they become worn. I tightened mine up with washers and new pins.

Go back to the case ih site. Go to your tractor model. Click on attachments, go to page number 437. Hitch pictured is missing numbers 1,12,13,14,15,16,17.

Yup! got a similar limiter to the smaller F-H. that cross tube under the rear end is part of it. There should be a shaft with a tri-angle shaped plate welded to it on the right side with a hole and a slot... then a linkage that goes to an eye-bolt in the right arm and a linkage between the eye-bolt and plate. Pin thru slot limits how far it can sway and pin in the hole is supposed to stop sway. Not the best of set-ups as there had to be quite a bit of engineering in the linkage to limit sway at varying heights and I think that is why they are easily broken.

(quoted from post at 16:53:35 05/29/14) Great, thanks for the photos/help all.

My 240U had the eye broken off the eye-bolt and the threaded portion still in the right arm. Luckily with some PB blaster and a sharp pointed center punch, I was able to remove it, then a friend welded new threads I cut off a bolt onto it. Also at some point the rod inside the tube had been replaced and the cross hole was not drilled for the pin through the end of the linkage, so that same buddy lined it up and drilled a new hole on his vertical mill. Now I can push snow backwards with my blade where before I could not.
