What is engine and rear end differences between SWD9 and a 650D anybody messed with both??? My 660 busted rear end and I want a different BIG toy,hate to say but IH has weak rears and I have thought I may need to go newer or older ,I prefer older ,all thoughts appreciated . Jimmy

I have both. Every part will interchange with either tractor. All gears are the same. 650s have open face injectors and the B model injector pump. Some SWD9's have been updated to that pump some not. Fenders and operator platform are different.

the swd9 and 650 are the same tractor. I have both. I also farm with the 660"s and they are a way better tractor in the day and pull the same implements faster in the same gear. got to take in mind that the 660 is powerful but have to be easy on them as that"s when problems start. it will out pull the 650 no problem. didn"t think that the diff. was weak though. I think the 830 john deere has a weaker diff as I have seen them give more problem than the 660 in same h. p. range.

My 660 has a DT 310 in it and it is to much power I wanted to get something I wouldn't tear up. Thanks
