#9, the speed change lever. fits so sloppily in the housing, that the speed adjust screw, does not make good contact with the spring lever, #4. I can replace the screw and weld up the side of the lever, but how do I fix the housing?

Take it to a shop that can bore it out & put a brass bushing in there.

I bore the hole and rebush with a 1/2x5/8 brass bushing the bushngs ae easy to find here LOWES has them.

After installing a bushing, do you replace the felt seal, #14, with another/different seal? I replaced the felt seal on the carb throttle shaft with an O-ring, and I could do that here as well, if I need to.
