340 pump hyd keeps pushing seal out HELP PLEASE

I replaced the seals and o rings twice in pump. The pump just keeps pushing seal in to gear that drives it. Seal is tight when I install it acts like pressure is pushing it out.

Not sure how common but when I rebuild pumps it was just something I noticed on the core pumps once in awhile so I started doing it on all my rebuilds

john banet iii; may I ask where you are getting the seal(s) for you pump? I have been told at multiple dealers that they are no longer available. FarmallHal; if you see this, I did call George and he stated they aren't available.

Most original pumps were staked around the seal. Not with a center punch but rather with a flat tool. If you did not remove those slight indentations when installing new seal it deformed the new seal. I have used Loctite and also staked them. If the bushing is worn it will probably move the seal anyway or at least leak. Have seen many many seals pushed out when pumps were worn out although you do get lucky now and then.

Carefully sand the sealant off of the outside of the seal, get seal and bore CLEAN and install seal using high strength Loctite with primer.
