A few days ago I posted what I thought was a spun bearing. Thanks for all replies. Anyhow, it turned out to be a broken sleeve (No. 1 cylinder) How would this happen? Maybe wrong head gasket? (It was recently changed.) How is fire ring supposed to fit? ITs an MD with a 4" sleeve. Thanks.

probably correct about the wrong head gasket. If the sleeves stick above the block, the standard head gasket will work. if the sleeves sit flush with the block, the 305805R1 special head gasket as it makes up the fire ring of the piston, and is engineered to crush correctly and seal the block and head. If the standard head gasket is used with the flush sleeves, the sleeve will move, and break the flange off of the sleeve and suck the sleeve into the block.
