Farmall Super C oil breather...different styles???

Just wondering if there is any rhyme or reason as to the style of breather on top of the valve cover on the c113/123 engine? My A,BN and 53 Super C have the larger/taller cap and my 54 Super C has a much shorter one?

My 54's cap is all bent to heck and I would like to replace it but would like to get the correct one for it. Thanks!

You MIGHT want to peruse the official parts catalogs to see what model-specific part numbers come up.

Best I know, all these take the tall cap. But I am
sure they could have gotten lost or full over time
and replaced with whatever was around.

The height keeps the breather vent holes under
the hood line to prevent an oil mist and dirt line
on the top of painted hood.

We had to replace ours on a b ( tall one)years ago. IH dealer sold us the short one and said it was the replacement for the tall one. Its been on the tractor for years ( short one) and does the job.
