cub runs then cuts off

51 cub runs fine for about 10 or 15 minutes then
starts to act gas starved,then cuts off. will
immediately restart but then cuts off again
immediatley. I have checked wire screen in elbow
fitting going into the carb and it good. Pull hex
nut at bottom of carb and gas flows strong from it.
What else should I check??
 
Feel the coil with your hand. If it is hot when it sputters and dies that is the issue. You can also pour cold water on it (not on the tower) to cool it to see if it will run longer. If so just replace it. Jim
 
I had this problem last year after I put a new gas cap on. It was not vented. Drilled a hole in it and problem solved.

Another time it was a loose wire on side of Mag.
 

Sticking needle valve starving the tractor of fuel. E10 gas makes the rubber tips swell and sticky in a short amount of time. A few places sell solid brass needle valves for Cubs that would cure your problem.
