Lift All Belly Pump Works Intermittently

Hi,
I am trying to run a front loader with Farmall H belly pump. It works intermittently. I have a 1000 psi gauge on it, and it was well under 200 psi when it worked, otherwise doesn"t register. I could be wrong but it feels like the lift rod has an extra "notch" when it works. Normally it just slams back to the stop. What should I check next? Will I need to take the pump out to check things? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Put the pressure gauge in the front left elbow with a T so it can operate and read pressure.
There could be a hose with a collapsed internal flap that acts like a check valve.
The lever could be loose where it pivots at the pump.
If none of those help. you might need to remove it and look at the internal linkage. Jim

Can not really help you on the troubleshooting, but since you say hydraulics work intermittently: I am hoping you do realize that belly pump hydraulics only work when the clutch is released (you can be in neutral or moving in any gear).

In other words, Belly pump hydraulics do NOT work when the clutch is pushed in.
