Actually, I think I know this guy's angle.

He's using ebay as free/cheap nationwide advertising.

The idea is: Set the price so high that it will never sell, so you don't have to pay the commission! Leave your phone number in the ad and do the deal back-door style.

It's all right there in the description: an ANTIQUE RED Farmall...
Not just an ordinary red tractor, or a Farmall M with new paint. That antique red paint makes it worth a whole lot more, 'cause ya just can't get that nowadays. (wink, wink; nudge, nudge)
