560 turbo option

I've been reading posts about people having 560tractors with factory/dealer turbos so if this is true why can't a 560 run a true dealer/ factory option turbo in pulling? This is a legitimate question not to provoke a arguement I'd like some feed back n reasons why or why not it can / can't be and is it true cause I did find part numbers n dealer install prices for it, jd rackety boom 435 I think runs one cause it was available , just askin lee b

Turbo was never a factory installed option on a 560. IH offered a kit but in no way recommended it. It also voided any warranty if there was any left on the tractor. I installed one at dealership and that tractor was no longer in any warranty. The only reason a co. offers an add on kit such as that is to compete with other after market products that they know are being installed.

So it def never was just a add on option, so if a tractor can have options added n be legal for pulling then my question is how is this not a legal option or in like my determining of a rule is then no options should be allowed in pulling . I agree it is not factory but if offered by a dealer , what's dif than say m/w gov or a swartze wide frt n so on

I don't know anything about tractor pulls but I bought a turbo 560 from the second owner about a year ago. I love the sound of the 282 with a turbo! Its been a wild year for me and Ive not used it a lot except feeding hay and loading manure but its really responsive.

It was only as after market kit by IH thru parts, never was factory on a 560, the parts for the kit came off as best I recall from a TD7? IH crawler, it had a DT282 or a 301 from factory. You could change over the air cleaner also to a dry type, another parts kit. M & W was selling their own turbo kit & IH made up these to compete for parts sales. I set-up & delivered these tractors new.

Thanks guys I appreciate the good info about this turbo idea , I'm convinced it is just a add on and may even restore one with it when I get around to it , my father and I have several restored tractors n farm with ih only since first m bought new all the way to our newest 1486 lol still going stronge at 33 yrs

If you pull antique pure stock no way a turbo. But a lot of regular farm pulls they don't care les they say no in the rules.I pull mine in all the local pulls with turbo.
