Factory Turbo 560 Myth

Overheard two guys discussing 560's this weekend. Heard several guys claim to have had "factory" turboed 560s, and one guy was claiming this again.
I know some were turbocharged for cotton picker application, but none that I know of for general use, and no cotton here in SE NE!

Did this myth arise from IH dealers using IH. crawler parts to add turbos?
Had a beautiful, original 560 years ago that I got from the original owner. He claimed he had the IH turbo setup added before they delivered it. It had IH part #'s on the manifold, and a TO-6 AirResearch on it. Would this have been the IH turbo used?

Mostly just wondering where this "factory" turbo myth got started.
 
As far as I know a turbo was NOT an option for a
560.However, there lots of them that got a "blower"
at the dealer before it was delivered at the
customer's 'request'.I do know the warrantee was
voided when the turbo was added.
 
Don't remember all the details but IH sold the parts for dealers to install one. Supposed to be aimed for use on high altitude operated tractors. Think the exhaust opening in the hood was moved and a dry type air filter was also offered.
Someone can probably offer more info.
 
The part number for the kit from a dealer to add an IH turbo to
a 560 is 407 055 R91 and the price was $462.00. The dry air
cleaner was included in the kit. The dry air cleaner was part
number 387 339 R91 and had a price of $37.87 and the
optional gauge for air cleaner was 386 106 R91 and cost was
$9.75
 
BZ is correct but the first ones used the original air cleaner which didn't work out because it sucked the oil out of the oil bath cleaner then went to dry cleaner.I have a 560 with that first kit which was off the Td-6 62 series crawler with the big curved pipe.
 
Ive got a 560 out of Idaho that had a turbo on it, but with the oil bath cleaner and I still run it that way. I haven't given much though to changing it out yet. My 560 is kinda a late one with 65560 serial number. Not sure when it was turbo'd but my friend I bought it from got it from a friend of his and he stated that it was turbo'd the whole time he'd been alive. so not sure when it was put on
 
I have a 560 with the M&W turbo set up. In the M&W
installation manual you are suppose to change 560 oil bath air
cleaner for the oil bath air cleaner from a 660 which is bigger.
They gave you a list of part numbers to make the change.
