Picture of some block coolant covers. Think the top ones are 51313DA. They work for both openings. Next is 264416 front and 264360 Rear. Next is the thick covers that started being used near the end of D264 production and became the replacement covers for others.
Not a bunch of improvement with the thick covers. Inside channels were still thin.
Thick one in the picture has bad channels or deflectors. Figured if I really needed to use them I would make the deflectors and weld them to the cover. That would be one advantage with the thick ones.

Thank you very much for taking the time to collect these and photograph them. I did some more research regarding the part numbers and I agree with you 100% that they should also be interchangeable between the Farmall MD/WD-6/400D/450D/WD-9/600D/650D.....and most likely the TD-6/TD-9/TD-91 (I don't have parts manuals for the crawlers).

What tractors are the covers from in your picture? I am hoping at least one set is from a 9 series engine so we can confirm that they are all physically the same size and therefore interchangeable between all engines. Parts manuals are rarely wrong, but the 9 series engines are significantly bigger and I would just like to double-check the dimensions of the covers as final proof. I would measure some myself but I am 200 miles from most of my tractors right now and won't be back there for some time.

If all covers are interchangeable then I would like to eventually inform Bates Equipment that their reproduced covers they sell will fit more than just the Farmall MD/400D/450D. It would help others who need these covers.

Teamwork is a good thing!

Only one I know for sure what they were removed from is the center ones. Wrote D264 engine serial number 18665 on them. Used to look through salvage yards for stuff like that. Usually cheap with low demand back then. So I don't remember what they all were from. But think the top ones were from a 52 MD and the lower ones from a early 450.
Don't have a 9 or 9 cover to compare. But hard to think several different parts books would have the covers wrong.

DSlater. The top plates in your picture you said you had labeled D264 (MD). The part #51313DA is the same part # and same physical picture as seen in the TD9 Parts Manual. The other plates are the same # and physical picture as seen in the MD Parts Manual. These others are also the same part # and physical picture seen in the SWDR9 Parts Manual. I received the used plates from Bates; one is red and the other is yellow. They both look quite affected by the water over the years, but I think they will work fine for me. Bates told me they do NOT sell any reproduction water jacket plates for MD or WD9. (That's why I settled for the used ones). Bye the way, I'm quite sure the plates I got from Bates are not from a SWD9 and they fit perfectly. My conclusion is (except for the difference in baffle in the #51313DA) the others will all work for SWDR9 and SWD9. John
