What was the first IHC tractor to reach 60hp and the first to reach 70hp, and there years of manufacture??

Without looking it up I"m gonna say the 560 in 59 was the first 60 hp. The 706 was the first 70 hp in 63 or when ever they came out.

SWD9 was tested at Nebraska in 1954, the maximum belt HP was over 60. Started making those in 1953 I think. Like already posted, probably the 660 in 59 is the other.

I would not believe everything you read on tractordata.com, for example they list The Massey Ferguson 590 as having 90 h.p. no it didn"t, it was a 75 h.p. tractor. Some things it gets right, some things it doesn"t.

You've got to qualify your question a little more.

You looking for belt, PTO, drawbar, or engine HP?

In engine HP, I would expect the W9 probably had 60HP at the flywheel given its 49HP output on the belt in the Nebraska tests. If not the W9, then the Super WD9 surely had it at 65HP on the belt, and probably broke the 70HP barrier at the flywheel.

Tractordata.com is largely accurate on tractors that have Nebraska Test data.
