Case IH 656 Hydro

I am considering buying a Case IH 656 Hydro for pulling an older NH 580 baler. It's a little undersized based on 580 specs, but heavy enough that I think it should do the job.

It's got 4500 hr, a GB loader and a basic cab and everything appears to be working well. I can get it for $9000.

Your thoughts?

Price is fair enough. It will handle it fine.I run an 826Hydro.Used to pull a NH 283/425 baler with no issues. You will love it!!!

Must be a RARE bird... I don't the CASE had too much to do with the 'ol 656's! (LOL!)

There's baling and then there's baling...

On the flat with no wagon, you could run most any small square baler with a Super C.

If you're on the hills with a 9x20 kicker rack, you want as much meat in front of that baler as you can get, with lots of ballast, good tires, and brakes.

BTW, is the 656 gas or diesel? Gas hydros are a dog on the market and $9000 is way too much unless the tractor comes with a seat upholstered with 40 $100 bills.
