Won"t start without either runs fine when it starts.cut it off have to either to get it to start back up .when u try to restart it doesn"t smoke out the stack anyone have any ideas.

Hi Puller, I am not familiar with 664 but I believe it has a German D-239 engine? How many hours on the engine? Has anyone had the injection pump off?
On the 74/84 Series tractors the D-239 has a Start position on the STOP/RUN lever. Does the 664 have the same Start position?

On my 664, the advance (or start position on the fuel on-off lever ) is touchy. Some days, set it and the tractor starts like right now. Other days not so. After the first start, the rest of the day it starts quick without ever using the advance.
