Original documents from Wisconsin Historical Society show last tractors produced in February 1953, and it is listed as "Model Discontinued" in March/April 1953. see the below link.

Not trying to start a flame war, but that sounds rather authoritarian...

My personal philosophy is that if I cant provide information based on technical data (as close to exact as possible), or if I cannot help based on my own personal experience, then I wont post anything.

That cannot be said for everyone, but last I checked it was a free country and if people wanted to just post something or spout something off that they believe to be correct, then by all means they are free to do so.

I like to believe in President Reagan's adage of "Trust but Verify" (which is originally Russian..). I search around for multiple answers/solutions and from those, decide the one that is best, or which seems to be correct/accurate.

just my 2 cents.

No more guessing. We now have an expert. WOW

Apologies not required as this all started by someone's reply with an axe to grind for some reason to start their day. The original question was relative to what year the Farmall H was last produced and not for a specific month, day and time of day the last one was produced for which records weren't kept anyway for that detailed data. The IH data I have been exposed to at the Wisconsin Historical Achieves is generally by year, month and later there were weekly production figures in the records of the time frame the last H was produced. We see that kind of question a few times a week for various IHC models and think it is generally known what is meant by the question which was appropriately answered by several folks. I have a December 1952 Farmall H with a s/n a couple thousand earlier then the last documented one made in early 1953. Mine doesn't have any of the changes incorporated early on the last straight H's before they became standard on the Super H like the disc brakes for instance, Hal.

Now the questions. Going by the records that means only one H was built in Feb. 53. But no H engine is shown being installed in Feb. in the records. Does that mean the last H used a SH engine? Or does it mean the records are not the most accurate? They are confusing on some things.
Don't have all records to look at but think one record says H production was discontinued in January 53. Would that be the real end date or just when management made the decision?
Evidently SH tractors were built in January 53 also.
I don't claim to know the answers to the above and have found out with IH the best you can do is get close to what's supposed to be correct. Seems something comes up every now and then that doesn't fit what's supposed to be.
Everybody makes mistakes and if the requirement was to be correct 100% of the time there would be hardly any posts to look at. Also valuable information a poster knows about another question may be lost due to not posting.
If required to be correct every time I wouldn't post anymore.

Dave, You just keep sharing your knowledge as I learn a lot from the information you have access to and share with the rest of us from your vast resources, Hal.

Yes that was my thought too, I felt that farmalls were close not exact, don't mean any bad but records are confusing to me I think they may have been poorly kept, or maybe not educated enough to understand them, I love red tractors and mean no offence I am collecting from 1940-1960 A-660 I'm still missing a few and have a lot of fixing on most of them but don't have any money so it takes time and money . Thanks for understanding.

Don't know about the month, but I used to have a 1953 H according to the serial number. I think they made about 1200 considered 1953's. Mine was 900 before the end.
